Artistic Director - Medical Director: A Roundtable Discussion

Registration is closed for this event

Within our work across a diverse range of organisations and sectors, GGI learns from the challenges presented to our colleagues and clients.

GGI has been struck by the diverse way in which healthcare and arts organisations approach the appointment of their key staff, notably those with responsibility to lead and champion content and delivery. For arts organisations, one of the key tasks for the board is the appointment of their artistic director. This is a decision that needs to take into account their strategy, culture, risk appetite and brand. GGI is curious to understand whether there are lessons for healthcare organisations when they appoint their medical director.

GGI has undertaken significant work on the role of the medical director as a pivot for the boards of healthcare organisations, and through our work with clients has tapped into further interesting insight around the types and roles of medical directors. We believe that an open sector to sector discussion with leaders in arts organisations can help bring thoughtfulness to how boards work with both artistic directors and medical directors.

This unique event will hear experiences from both the health and arts on best practice and share key learning points, exploring the similarities and challenges faced.  This event will be hosted at English National Opera, a beacon in the arts sector, striving to develop and provide a stimulating and inspirational environment for artists, staff and audiences.
